About Us

Green Scene Land and Water Group was formed in the fall of 2020 by John English. Built on the back of strong and trusted relationships with The Villages and The Villages Developers that were fostered over 30+ years, Green Scene Land and Water Group Inc. has become the foremost Commercial Landscape and Irrigation contractor in The Villages.

John has assembled and maintained a knowledgeable and vastly experienced group of hardworking employees who share the goal of delivering exceptional service and products.

We are now seeking to expand our talents and branch out into District and Commercial contracts with The Villages. Our employee’s extensive history in the area and knowledge of The Villages will allow us to maintain The Villages properties to the highest of standards.

Management/Personnel Responsibilities President: John English:

Our founder John English has over 35 years’ experience in commercial landscape/irrigation installation and commercial maintenance. He has used his extensive knowledge in this field along with his relationships with The Villages and The Villages Developers to build a company capable of installing and maintaining The Villages properties to the highest of standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all facets of the company
  • Verify all invoicing is correct (i.e., pricing, customer, etc.) prior to being sent out to the customer
  • Meet with clientele on a consistent basis
  • Verify quality of work on all projects
  • Hold weekly/monthly meetings with the staff going over performance, company changes, and any issues that arise.

Director of Maintenance Operations: Steve Schaar

Dommie Veasey joined Green Scene Land and Water Group in the fall of 2021. He has extensive knowledge of The Villages and Disney where he has overseen large-scale maintenance contracts. He is also a certified Pest Control Operator. He will be overseeing all of Green Scene Land and Water Groups maintenance contracts

Purchasing Manager/Office Administrator: James Brassell

James Brassell has been with Green Scene Land and Water Group since its inception. He has used his past construction industry experience to create a niche role that is vital to all of Green Scene Land and Water Groups operations.

  • 8 years of managerial experience in the utility construction industry

Responsibilities

  • Purchase and direct all plant material orders and deliveries
  • Assist in all company purchases (i.e., plant material, office supplies, equipment, vehicles, and trailers)
  • Field phone calls from vendors and customers
  • Maintain company Licenses and Certifications
  • Perform takeoffs on all new bids

Maxicom Technician: Dion Wilkerson

Dion Wilkerson has worked in the Villages for over 10 years. He is Maxicom Technician and Maxicom Operation certified. He currently handles The Villages Maxicom inspections and maintenance. He is one of the foremost irrigation techs in the area.

  • Build and Install Maxicom Controllers
  • Properly install and test Maxicom grounding
  • Install and test flow sensors
  • Diagnose and repair Maxicom systems
  • Rebuild and service valves from 1-12”
  • On-call 24/7 for any water management issues

Water Manager/Spray Tech: Heather English

Heather English is a certified fertilizer and pest control technician. She is Florida Water Star Certified and manages all the water usage for Green Scene Land and Water Groups contracts to ensure we are not shorting or exceeding our scheduled water amounts. She is also certified in Best Management Practices.
